Located at 514 Sharpsville Ave, Billy's started by adding TVs and a satellite and crowds gathered to watch the Penguins' Stanley Cup championships as well as the Pirates' success of the early 1990s and the Steelers' Super Bowl trip in 1996.
Then on August 1, 1996 a devastating fire destroyed all but a small corner of the building. With the community help to clean up and rebuild, the new building was opened for the start of the '97 Steelers season.
The unique atmosphere is enhanced by a thirty foot high ceiling and real astro-turf from the end zone of YSU stadium. Table seating came from the Allegheny Club at Three Rivers Stadium and is surrounded by memorabilia of all three teams and topped by an 18 foot hand painted mural of Pittsburgh. |
